In 28th October,”World Thrift Day” which was built by UN was coming.In order to propagate the traditional virtue,the volunteers of the school of Finance and Economics went to the community to hold a series of activities on the topic of thrift.
In the morning of 28th,volunteers came to the community’s serving centre.They brought some “waste products”,such as newspaper,zip-top can,CDs,shoes boxes and so on.After recognized with the children in the community,they cooperated to change these “waste products” into storage boxes,pen containers,decoration and so on by using scissors,adhesive tape,brush-pencils.Seeing these “new products”,the parents thought this activity was very meaningful.
The children were also very excited.Then the volunteers finished some posters
about thrift with the children.The atmosphere was very harmonious.Then volunteers broadcast a video about thrift story.The volunteers hoped the people in the video can set a good example to the children.And they hoped the children can put the slogan “advocating thrift,opposing waste” into action.The children also promise to do it.
Through the interesting activities,volunteers propagate the awareness of thrift to the children in the community.It can remind individuals to pay attention to environment protecting in a certain which will promote the society’s sustainable development.
